Join Us as a Social Work Lead!
The Social Work Lead will provide leadership and support for the operations of the social work department. They will provide clinical guidance to program staff, and also provide direct care coverage to our patients. They are to advocate for the interests and safety of the patients and department members while acting in accordance with compliance regulations. They are also required to provide supervision, as needed and appropriate, to any department member requiring guidance, as well as any department member eligible for licensure, as assigned by your supervisor. They should demonstrate an ability to complete tasks as required of unit social workers.
As a Social Work Lead:
As a Social Work Lead, you will be an active participant in the health care team who provides direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
Responsibilities include:
Provides direct clinical services to patients including biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, safety plans, clinical contacts, discharge plans, and discharge summaries.
Provide supervision for staff and/or interns as assigned by supervisor.
Regularly completes audits of social work records to assure quality and compliance of work produced by social work staff as assigned by supervisor.
Acts as a resource for staff.
Accurately gathers and appropriately conveys patient and family concerns and feedback.
Adheres to all policies and procedures pertaining to the confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Promotes a positive, non-punitive atmosphere in all interactions with patients and families. Contributes to maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and pleasant treatment space.
Collaborates with management and staff in the development of appropriate programming, e.g. human rights, cultural diversity, family educational programs, substance abuse, domestic violence, trauma assessment.
Completes Biopsychosocial Assessment of all patients within hospital policy, including meeting with family and/or guardians whenever possible.
Develop a comprehensive discharge plan that is responsive to the needs of the patient, their family and the community.
Contacts outpatient providers and agencies (e.g. PCPs, DSS, DMH, DMR, DYS, school systems, therapists, psychiatrists, residential program staff, probation officers, and attorneys) as soon as possible following patient admission to coordinate treatment and discharge planning.
Complete all documentation requirements in a timely manner, including psychosocial assessments, discharge summaries, clinical summaries, and social work notes in the medical chart.
If designated, serves as Human Rights Officer for the unit.
The Social Work Lead will have the following:
Independent clinical license (LICSW or LMHC 3 years post license) required.
Child & Adolescent Needs & Strengths (CANS) Certification, required within 30 days of hire.
At least 2 years of experience in inpatient setting preferred.
At least 2 years of supervisory and management experience preferred.
Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use of Electronic Health Record required; experience with Electronic Health Record, including Medsphere/Vista preferred.
Compliance with hospital standards including CPR, Restraint Reduction, de-escalation/crisis intervention strategy certifications within 30 days of start date.

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience and licensure status.
$80,000 - $95,000
